about us

Bevan Brittan is a law firm dedicated to public services.

What do we mean by public services? We define public services as those which are delivered by organisations in the public, private and third sectors which commission, provide, procure, fund and regulate public services – our clients.

Our core markets are health, local government, housing, waste, energy and renewables, education, emergency services, public infrastructure, charities and not-for-profit organisations.  Our client base reflects this and includes over 30% of all local authorities, 40% of all health trusts and more than 100 private sector organisations - all working together on the delivery of public services.

Our strength is our depth of understanding of our clients and their markets. Clients tell us that they find us easy to work with. Partly this is because of the people we employ: they are not stuffy – they are bright, capable and motivated. And partly it is because our clients don’t need to explain themselves over and over again – we get it. By listening and taking the time to truly get to know the issues, we provide incisive, practical legal advice.

Many clients also comment that they value our experience of working with both the public and private sectors, particularly at the interface between the two.  Public services clients now represent over 90% of our business - and the percentage is still growing.  No other law firm is so heavily focused on public services.

We offer a full range of services including: contract, litigation, property, construction, major projects, employment and medical law. Click here for a full list of the services we provide.

Our values are core to Bevan Brittan’s ethos. We are passionate about the markets we choose to work in and strive to deliver the best advice and solutions to our clients. This is also underpinned by our promises to clients; these act as a moral compass for the firm in how we approach our work and the delivery and service our clients should expect.

Naturally we take our commitment to corporate responsibility seriously and this is reflected through our values and our promises.

Bevan Brittan] know our requirements on the private sector side, but also know our clients...they know where the public sector is coming from.
