Bevan Brittan win highest rated place on NHS Commercial Alliance Legal Panel

08/07/11

Leading Public Services law firm Bevan Brittan LLP, has been appointed to the NHS’s largest legal procurement framework, the NHS Commercial Alliance. The firm was the most highly rated adviser in the procurement process.

This significant appointment covers not only the Health bodies in the South East but also two other Procurement Hubs for this process, the East of England Collaborative Procurement Hub and Pro-Cure for the South Central region.  The framework will deliver legal services to over 100 NHS organisations from Hampshire to Norfolk including all Ambulance Trusts in England.

Bevan Brittan is one of only three firms to have been appointed to all of the panels and has been ranked first overall.  The firm was also rated top in six of the eight panels (NHS Governance, Mental Health, Corporate & Commercial, Property, Employment, and PFI/PPP Projects) and second in the remaining two panels (Health and Primary Care).

Partners John Chapman and Ian Caplan led the tendering process. Commenting on the appointment Chapman said “We are absolutely delighted and immensely proud to have been appointed on this extremely competitive and high profile legal panel.  This joint procurement will ensure that all the participating NHS organisations across the country will benefit from both high quality legal services as well as the competitive rates resulting from this process.  We already work with over 40 of the organisations who have signed up to this process and look forward to working with the others.”

The appointment is another significant success for the Bevan Brittan team who are already one of the principal legal advisers in the healthcare sector, advising over a third of all NHS bodies.
