When fully implemented in 2011 the Legal Services Act will provide a more flexible regulatory regime for Local Government legal services and will allow these organisations to set up separate legal entities to share legal services amongst public authorities to participate in joint ventures with private sector organisations.
The Legal Services Board (LSB) is currently consulting on the way in which this regulatory regime will be structured for the new types of legal services vehicles allowed under the Act.
This seminar is intended to bring together those authorities who may wish to take advantage of the new regulatory regime to examine the strategic opportunities and discuss how the new regulatory regime can be structured to assist the development of shared legal services. The seminar is intended to provide a forum for local authorities to respond to the LSB’s consultation.
Following the seminar a summary of the views expressed at the seminar will be sent to the LSB as part of their consultation process.
