Efficient and effective investigations can be a powerful tool for improving employee relations and tackling dysfunctional behaviours, if used with precision and care. The expanding minefield of employment law means that there are numerous issues to contend with in investigations, from employees refusing to engage, to overlapping complaints and alleged breaches of privacy and Human Rights.  Meanwhile, social media continues to make its presence felt in the workplace and will often arise as a key issue during an investigatory process – is it possible to bring this into an investigation or  is this covered by privacy restrictions?

This practical interactive workshop from the Bevan Brittan employment team, using case studies and shared learning from delegates, will cover the legal framework, alongside guidance on how to deal with some of the knottier issues and pitfalls that can arise during an investigation.

    Key Topics

    • The legal framework: fairness requirements
    • Planning an investigation
    • Getting the documentation right
    • Dealing with witnesses
    • Privacy, human rights and social media
    • Failure to co-operate
    • Overlapping procedures
    • Practical tips

    Who Should Attend?

    • Human Resources Advisers, Managers and Business Partners
    • Line managers with responsibility for conducting internal investigations into disciplinary and grievance matters.

Following the workshop, we should be delighted if you would join us for lunch, where there will be further opportunities to network and meet members of the Bevan Brittan employment team.

There is no charge for this training or lunch. We anticipate that this event will book very quickly, so please ensure you reserve your place as soon as possible.

The maximum number of delegates from each organisation attending for this training is four.
