Bevan Brittan has been shortlisted as Legal Firm of the Year in the finals of the Bristol Life Awards 2019.

The awards are described as a ‘celebration of business’ in Bristol and include not only a legal category – but also sectors such as finance, business services, arts, education, food and drink, property and leisure and tourism.

Bevan Brittan is one of the largest law firms in Bristol, with around 230 legal professionals and support staff, including 28 partners. Its legal teams are recognised as UK market-leaders across health and social care, housing and local and central government – and we also advise more than 300 businesses.

Bevan Brittan legal teams that serve the South West region are recognised nationally for the breadth of their expertise and knowledge.

Legal 500 ranked Bevan Brittan’s South West local government, health and employment practices as ‘tier one’. For the first time, its Bristol based teams were also ranked in two new practice areas – health and safety, and project finance and PFI – and its commercial property team ranking rose from three to two, underlining its growing presence in the Bristol market.

Chambers confirmed the leading status of Bevan Brittan’s social housing team by increasing its ranking in the South West to ‘band one’ (up one from last year).

Bevan Brittan is proud of its activities in pro-bono work and charity/volunteering activities in the city and South West region, including recently advising Great Western Air Ambulance Charity on move to their new base in Almondsbury, on the outskirts of Bristol.

Rosemary Jago, Head of Bevan Brittan’s Bristol office, said:

“We are delighted to be a finalist in the Bristol Life Awards legal category. Our Bristol teams include talented professionals who are recognised nationally for their knowledge and capability.

We aim to play a full role in the business life of the city, and also support many good causes in our communities where our legal expertise can be of assistance.”

The Awards finals are being held on April 11 in the Lloyds Bank Amphitheatre in Bristol.
