The Role
Joining the Commercial team, you could get involved in a wide range of areas covering the whole of the contracting process from procurement through negotiation to contract management; joint ventures and complex contract and grant arrangements.The specific client base spans a wide range of local authorities, Primary Care Trusts, NHS Foundation Trusts and NHS Trusts. The work ranges across acute hospitals to out of hospital care services and GP care. You will also be involved in advice on administrative law issues .
The Individual
The individual would need the following skill set:
- 2-4 years PQE in contractual and commercial work, although this need not be in the health sector
- Good drafting ability
- Creativity and flexibility as this is an area which is constantly developing.
- An ability to understand and relate to clients’ needs.
- project management skills, utilising systems where appropriate.
- Priority and time management skills
- Organised, with lateral thinking skills and an eye for detail.
- Able to cope with pressures associated with running a caseload and assisting on more complex cases.
- A team player, with the temperament to form strong and sustained working partnerships with partners, colleagues and more junior members of the Team
