Bevan Brittan’s education team acts for a wide range of educational institutions. This includes clients in the maintained, further and higher education fields.
In the maintained sector, we provide wide ranging advice to children’s services authorities including large scale schools re-organisation (within and outside of BSF programmes) and all aspects of education funding including special education needs. We also retain market leadership positions in the Building Schools for the Future and growing area of Academies.
In higher education our experienced construction and property & planning teams continue to provide wide ranging advice on the critical area of estate management and development to leading universities. We also provide a wide range of other advice to HEIs ranging from commercial litigation through to ground breaking joint ventures with the private sector and developments with related research organisations.
In further education we have advised on a number of significant proposed mergers in the sector as well as diversification into related enterprises and reorganisation. Again, our leading Construction and Property & Planning teams are acting for a number of colleges on estate development and rationalisation.
Underpinning all of our work in this area is an in-depth understanding of education law and the individual aims and needs of the establishment regardless of the level.
