Seminar: An update on current live issues in clinical negligence claims. September 27 - Birmingham  
  The Mental Capacity Act comes into force with full effect from 1 October 2007. It will profoundly affect all aspects of the treatment and assessment of patients where capacity is an issue. The impact of the Act will be wide ranging and goes well beyond the question of consent of potentially incapacitated patients, so all Trusts are expected to provide training to staff on the effect of these changes. This brief introductory talk covers the most important provisions and identifies the key areas of change.
