What I do
My main area of work is property development and estate
regeneration for private and public sector housing
providers, dealing with all aspects of site assembly and
acquisition as well as onward disposals. I have particular
expertise advising registered social landlords (RSLs) on
development and many other property related transactions,
including consortium agreements, local authority nomination
and funding agreements, development agency agreements, inter
association transfers and management agreements, and have
considerable experience advising RSLs on stamp duty land tax
issues.
In addition, I advise private sector clients on a range of
commercial property transactions, acting for both landlords
and occupiers.
Some examples
I acted for two RSLs on the acquisition (conditional on
planning) and development of 5 residential blocks in St
James's New River Village development in Hornsey. Work
included the exchange of option agreements for the onward
sale of units to a third RSL.
I advised on the purchase by Crest Nicholson (South West) of
a flagship site in Somerset for residential development,
including dealing with the sale of the affordable housing on
the site.
I acted for an RSL on the acquisition of a local authority
owned site in Camden for a mixed-use development of
affordable housing and light industrial units, including
dealing with the onward sale of the commercial element.
I advised Places for People Homes on the acquisition of a
site from Hertfordshire County Council for residential
development. This involved the negotiation of development,
nominations and re-purchase provisions in relation to the
higher needs supported unit to be built on the site.
I have advised a number of businesses on the acquisition of
new headquarter office premises.
