What I do
I act on a wide range of projects including the acquisition and disposal of land for residential and commercial development, regeneration of brownfield city centre sites and the greenfield development of urban expansion areas.
I advise clients who plan to bring sites to the market in the medium term where advice centres around site assembly, the use of options and site promotion. Much of my work requires collaboration between land owners, developers and public sector authorities involving profit share or joint venture arrangements. I also specialise in multi-site developments requiring a strategic framework approach and the subsequent development or disposal of individual phases.
Some examples
- I am advising a major land owner on the development of a growth area in the south east jointly with a local authority and English Partnerships. The scheme will include over 1,500 houses, a football stadium, hotel, leisure and retail facilities, a large light industrial sector and over £30m of public infrastructure.
- I acted for the developer on the acquisition of the hotel site on a major city centre retail led regeneration project.
- I am advising the Welsh Assembly on the phased disposal of a key residential site in north Wales of over 300 units.
- I am advising a unitary authority on the regeneration and disposal of a prestigious city centre and waterfront site for mixed use. The authority is the major land owner alongside a national insurance company and major property fund.
- I acted for the developer on the acquisition and redevelopment of a multi-tenanted office site for redevelopment as a hotel for a national chain.
- I acted for a local authority utilising a novel delivery mechanism for the disposal and subsequent redevelopment of uneconomic housing stock on a multi-site joint venture with a national house builder for over 1,000 units.
