Sherree is a an IT and digital media specialist with
extensive experience in negotiating and concluding all types
of technology contracts as well as advising on digital media
issues.
My Background
I qualified as a lawyer in 1992 and spent my initial post
qualification years gaining experience of a broad range of
complex commercial contracts. I chose to specialise in IT
law and joined Taylor Wessing in 1995 where I was promoted
to a partner in the IT/Telecoms Group in 1999. Prior to
joining Bevan Brittan in November 2006 I spent three years
as a partner in the Media, Brands & Technology Department of
Lewis Silkin.
What I do
I spend much of my time drafting, advising on and
negotiating the full range of IT agreements to a successful
conclusion including outsourcing, off shoring, managed
services, consultancy services, support and maintenance
services, CRM and ERP agreements, systems supply and
procurement, development, licensing and distribution. I
frequently advise on associated regulatory issues (such as
compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998) either for an
entire business on an ongoing basis or within the context of
specific projects. My work also includes advising on online
and digital media activities such as e-mail marketing
campaigns, web site development and online sales. I act for
a range of clients (concentrating, not exclusively, on
private sector organisations) from global companies to small
high-growth-potential start-ups including both customers and
suppliers.
Some
examples
Some examples of my recent transactions and experience
include:
- handling a BPO transaction for a “fast casual” retailer involving the outsourcing of its online ordering and distribution to 120 nationwide outlets;
- concluding an offshoring contract on behalf of a supplier client and involving the offshoring of debt negotiation services for a high street bank to South Africa;
- advising the US subsidiary of a software company specialising in rules based software on its contracts with its customers for the licensing of its software and the supply of associated services;
- drafting services contracts for the supplier of market data consultancy services to banks and other financial institutions;
- advising an online insurance provider in connection with the launch of a new online insurance product;
- outsourcing the ongoing development, maintenance and support of a business critical platform and associated applications on behalf of a customer client.
