My work focuses on local and central government, education and social care and information law. I spent the first 10 years of my career in-house at various local authorities and my client base remains primarily public sector.
Social Care
This includes care commissioning, contracting and charging, health and social services partnerships, large scale reprovisioning projects for mental health, learning disabilities and elderly care schemes including supported living and extra care housing.
Children's Services and Education work
Experience includes school reorganisation, admissions and exclusions, governance issues, Building Schools for Future projects, school PFI, Academies, child protection, Children's Trusts, access to information and CRB checking and Children Act duties and responsibilities.
Information Law
I have advised and lectured extensively on Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and Data Protection. I also train health bodies and local authorities on Information Law issues.
