I work in the Regulatory Team and advise on all aspects of regulatory compliance and risk affecting health and social care providers across the public, private and voluntary sectors. My portfolio of work spans hospitals and clinics, care homes, children's homes, home care providers and nurseries. Clients include national regulators in both England and abroad, such as the Care Quality Commission, as well as a string of major providers.
I also represent PCTs in cases concerning their regulation of primary care contractors and practitioners.
I deal with all types of regulatory action taken against providers, including urgent cancellations, regulatory prosecutions and appeals to the Crown Court, and the First tier and Upper Tribunals. I also advise on applications to enter the regulated care system. In the corporate sector, I have undertaken regulatory due diligence exercises in relation to major acquisitions and disposals in the sector and advise on the structuring of schemes where regulatory issues are often central.
I also have an interest in Professional Conduct cases, have represented clients in cases before the GMC and NMC, and act as a Presenting Officer for the General Social Care Council on conduct cases relating to social workers.
