I am a partner in our Major Projects department and also lead Bevan Brittan’s specialist Waste & Renewable Energy team.
I have been a projects lawyer for 15 years, a period that has seen me act for a broad range of NHS Trusts, both central and local government, sponsors, contractors, FM providers, technology providers, equity funds and senior debt funders across various sectors.
I have completed a succession of PFIs in the health sector and was instrumental in closing the first major DGH in Wales - a pathfinder scheme on the New Treasury Taskforce Guidance - and also took a key role on the recent Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Hospital PFI.
I have closed a number of healthcare deals for clients such as Costain and the Bank of Ireland as well as several Building Schools for the Future (BSF) schemes, including a high-profile BSF project in Newcastle for Sir Robert McAlpine. My practice also means I act for a number of Waste Disposal Authorities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and several major waste contractors such as Veolia, Viridor and Cyclerval.
In addition, I am an author and editor of what is widely accepted as one of the encyclopaedias on PFI and am also a regular speaker and chair at PFI and PPP conferences in the UK.
