A partner in the Commercial Department, my principal areas of work are in public and administrative law and the commercial implications of that for NHS bodies.
My extensive public law work has involved advising on constitutional and general commercial issues for NHS bodies, as well as on the development of services, policies and procedures. I have advised a number of NHS foundation trusts on their governance arrangements, on the scope and limitations of their powers, and in drafting their constitutions. My work also covers contractual and regulatory issues for primary care trusts when dealing with primary care practitioners.
I also advise public bodies, particularly from the health and local government sectors, on a diverse range of issues relating to powers, decision making and governance arrangements. I specialise in relationships between health authorities and local government through both formal and informal agreements, and provide guidance to clients on issues surrounding governance and commissioning arrangements.
