I am head of the Medical Law and Personal Injury Department which includes our Clinical Negligence, Medical Law and Personal Injury teams. I work closely with the NHSLA and I am experienced in all types of clinical negligence claims but have a particular interest in cases involving brain injury as well as psychiatric claims. I am experienced at running high value cases with complex quantum issues for the NHS. Notable cases include Savage v South Essex Partnership NHS Trust.
I have a broad background as a lawyer acting in the health, care and housing sectors. I take a particular interest in mental health and human rights law and am a Tribunal Judge for the Mental Health Review Tribunal. I also regularly advise on data protection and information management issues.
I am a regular speaker on current legal issues and have recently spoken on the Human Rights Act and Mental Health Law, being a witness in MHRTs, Corporate Manslaughter and information management.
