I am a senior associate in the Clinical Risk team specialising in clinical negligence, mental health and human rights law.

I joined Bevan Brittan LLP in 2000.  My main practice area is clinical negligence.  I have considerable experience advising in high value and complex cases and handle claims including brain damage through obstetric treatment, neurosurgery and anaesthetic claims.

I also have a particular interest and extensive experience in mental health and Human Rights Act claims.  I have recently taken the case of Savage V South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to the House of Lords  where the Law Lords considered the threshold a claimant must meet to succeed in a claim involving a detained patient under Article 2 ECHR.  Additionally I have experience in prison health claims and Disability Discrimination Act claims.  I advise on general healthcare and mental health matters.

I arrange regular comprehensive training for professionals working in clinical negligence and mental health litigation focusing on awareness of current issues with the aim of helping them and their clinicians through the litigation process.

I have had a quality service from them in all aspects of the advice asked from them. It has been timely, comprehensive, up-to-date and pragmatic.
