I am a nationally recognised construction lawyer with particular expertise in the interpretation and drafting of construction and related contracts. I was responsible for drafting the MOD’s first integrated suite of construction documents for traditional procurement - “Defcon 2000” - and for the original documentation for the introduction of supply chain management into the NHS in England - “NHS ProCure 21”. I am also the joint author of the "“Be” Collaborative Construction Contract" published in September 2003 and the new "JCT Constructing Excellence Contract" published in January 2007.
I was also part of the Bevan Brittan team responsible for advising the Department for Education and Schools and Partnerships for Schools in relation to the Building Schools for the Future initiative. With Andrew Tobin, I was responsible for the drafting of all the construction documentation and had an input into the other standard documents.
