I’m a property dispute resolution lawyer, specialising in advising landlords and landowners in the private, health and local government sectors.
I regularly act for residential and commercial developers, institutional landlords, NHS trusts, local authorities and registered providers (formerly RSLs). I also have specialist expertise in acting for and against telecommunications operators, and often advise on property issues which have an insolvency angle.
A considerable proportion of my work constitutes risk management advice, where I help clients manage and resolve potential disputes at an early stage.
At any one time I might be advising clients on issues as diverse as the specific performance of contracts, rights of light, business lease renewal and the law of riparian rights, or rights relating to water. I’m a supporter of alternative dispute resolution where appropriate and, as well as handling High Court litigation, I’ve resolved high value and important cases through arbitration, expert determination and mediation.
