I am a nationally-recognised expert in procurement in the EU, UK and internationally, having won Who's Who Lawyer Award For Public Procurement. I also have a strong track record in general commercial law and projects, advising both public and private sectors. Providing tailored, specialist advice in a practical and pragmatic way, I advise clients spanning a broad range of industry sectors including central and local government, education, health, waste, leisure and outsourcing.

My practice covers all areas of procurement from initial project scoping to delivery including advising on preparation of advertisements, pre-qualification and tender documents and new strategies through to issues such as evaluation criteria and methodologies, changes to consortium membership and use of environmental and social issues in procurement.

I have particular expertise in the establishment and use of PPP and PFI, frameworks, joint ventures and development schemes. I have also been heavily involved in procurement challenges through dispute resolution processes and courts and have advised on post-award issues such as contract variation and the failure of contractors. I work with international clients including advising multinationals on internal governance models for procurement and governments on the roll-out of procurement systems in potential new EU member states.

In addition, I provide expert training via workshops and seminars covering the many practical issues arising from working within the regulated procurement system.

Additionally I am  Special Professor of Law at the University of Nottingham - in recognition of my contribution to the field of public procurement law and I am on the steering committee of the Procurement Lawyer's Association.
