Bevan Brittan Appoints Licensing Specialist

Bevan Brittan has further strengthened its leisure and real estate groups with the appointment of licensing specialist Sharon McCann, previously with Hammonds in Birmingham.

Sharon joins the firm as a partner with immediate effect and will be responsible for establishing a dedicated licensing practice. She will be joined by former Heatons head of licensing Rob Westwood-Payne.

With a well established reputation in the niche licensing market, Sharon has been described as someone who “knows her stuff” in the 2005 edition of Chambers and Partners. Her experience spans the spectrum of licensing work, including major pub operators, leading retailers, hotel chains and caterers.

She will work closely with partner and leisure head Peter Moody.

Commenting on her appointment Peter said; “Sharon and Rob will play a vital role in consolidating Bevan Brittan’s leisure offering. This is a strategic move to capitalise on the opportunities created by the implementation of the 2003 Licensing Act and to enhance our service offering to our licensed multiple retailer clients across the pubs, hotels and restaurant sectors. Sharon is a former Bevan Ashford trainee and we warmly welcome her to Bevan Brittan.”
