Bevan Brittan Partner Gears Up For The Pyrenees
Bevan Brittan commercial partner Martin Howe is set to tackle one of the most difficult stages of the Tour de France when he participates in the Etapé du Tour on Monday 11th July.
Martin, an amateur cyclist, has been grinding up the hills around Bristol over the past few months in preparation for the arduous event and is cycling to help raise money to equip the new Chemotherapy Unit at the Bristol Children’s Hospital.
This year’s Etapé
covers a distance of 110 miles through the Pyrenees
from Mourenx to Pau and involves four major climbs
including the Col de Marie Blanque, a climb which
was recently described by one professional rider as
’the one that everyone’s afraid of… all the way to
the top you suffer’.
Martin commented: ”Whilst Lance Armstrong won’t have
anything to worry I’m going to give it my best
shot. So, whilst I’m suffering, and rest assured I
will be, I know it’s voluntary and short-lived and
the money raised will help those not so fortunate.”
