Bevan
Brittan LLP has appointed a record number of 21 new
trainees to its trainee solicitor programme. They
join 20 other trainees who are commencing their
second years training with the national law firm.
Of the new intake 12 will be based in the firm’s
Bristol office while the others will work in the
firm’s London and Birmingham offices.
The new trainees will undertake four six-month
placements working across the firms five divisions
of health, government, insurance and finance, built
environment and commerce, industry and services.
Human Resources Manager, Ian Bassett commented:
“This is our largest intake of trainees to date. We
received approximately 1500 applications for this
year’s placements and the standard of applicants was
higher than ever. The competition has become
increasingly intense and candidates not only need to
have an excellent academic record but they must be
able to demonstrate sound commercial knowledge as
well.”
Susie Smith, Bevan Brittan’s partner in charge
of training added: “We are committed to ensuring our
trainees gain the broadest possible experience of
working for high quality public and private sector
clients. Our training programme is carefully
structured to consist of practical work experience
in conjunction with an extensive educational
programme. A trainee solicitor survey carried out
amongst over a hundred top legal firms across the UK
by LEX Magazine, rated us as the country’s fifth
firm for overall job satisfaction.”
