Bevan Brittan LLP has strengthened its real estate practice in London with the appointment of commercial property lawyer Ian Caplan. Ian joins the firm as a partner on 6 February.

Ian is currently a Senior Solicitor in the Real Estate department at Herbert Smith where he has been since 2001. Prior to that he was with Lawrence Graham. Ian has considerable experience in property transactions and has acted for a number of hospital trusts in respect of the property aspects of hospital PFIs. He also has experience in working with Development Agencies.

At Bevan Brittan he will work closely with the planning team led by Karen Cooksley and with Head of Real Estate Greg Lovett.
