Bevan Brittan's first-rate commercial team is recognised among the market leaders in the provision of specialist commercial law to all areas of the public sector. Our work includes expertise and in-depth experience in Local Government, Health, Central Government and Education.
Our work regularly raises issues concerning the powers of public authorities and the regulatory framework that surrounds them, as well as more intangible issues of public sector decision-making. This includes a comprehensive range of advice from procurement issues to spending policies and Joint Ventures.
We focus on the provision of support to a wide range of corporates and public sector bodies in their relationships with each other, the voluntary sector and with the commercial world via grant agreements and commercial contracts as well as more complex Public Private Partnership (PPP) schemes. This is never more true than in the health industry where an increasing focus on commercialisation, commissioning and quality is driving ever more complex arrangements.
Our involvement in national projects has put us at the cutting edge of commercial contractual architecture. We are currently working with P-UK on the legal issues in the commercialisation agenda for government bodies. We also advised Partnerships for Health on the development of the LIFT scheme and are advising Partnership for Schools on Building Schools for the Future (BSF). Integral to the delivery of such schemes is robust advice and support on procurement, funding arrangements and joint venture structures tailored specifically to deliver the aims of the project.
All this experience means that we can present optimal opportunities to our clients and structure negotiations that help them win the best deal and save time and money.
