We are regularly instructed to defend claims on behalf of a wide range of professionals (whether self-insured or on the instruction of insurers). We also act for claimants in claims against a broad spectrum of professionals. We have particular expertise and experience in defending claims brought against accountants and auditors, and are regularly instructed by one of the "Big Four" global accountancy firms to defend complex and high-value claims. More generally, we have experience and expertise in bringing and defending claims against (amongst others): financial services providers and advisers; lawyers; insurance brokers; and construction professionals. We also advise professionals on issues of risk management to help avoid litigation. We find that mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution can be particularly effective in resolving professional negligence claims, and our dedicated professional negligence team includes a CEDR accredited mediator.
