The “whistleblowing” legislation and case law is increasingly deployed in disputes between employer and employee. It is necessary to have a clear well understood policy which is applied consistently. We are used to guiding employers through the complexities of the issues raised by whistleblowing, particularly in the context and interplay of disciplinary and grievance procedures. We also are experienced in defending whistleblowing allegations in the employment tribunal and are alive to the potentially sensitive context for the client and the need to deal with the possible attendant publicity such claims can bring.
