Bevan Brittan’s specialist Health and Safety Team provides advice and representation on a wide range of regulatory law issues covering the whole area of health and safety, environmental matters, trading standards prosecutions and the complex area of waste management.
The team acts for a large number of both public and private sector clients, attending interviews under caution, handling and assisting on prosecutions as well as intervening and advising on prohibition and improvement notices. In particular, the team has a wealth of experience in advising and assisting clients in the aftermath of workplace fatalities representing both individuals and organisations subject to investigation by the police and the Health and Safety Executive.
The team offers an ‘emergency response’ service to clients, enabling them, in the event of a major incident, to call upon specialists who are able to provide immediate and onsite assistance.
In addition to our ‘reactive’ work, our experience of health and safety prosecutions provides us with a real insight and allows us to help clients ‘proactively’ reduce risk in their business. We can provide training and assist in undertaking high level reviews of safety policies and ensure solid processes are put in place to deal with the unexpected.
