Bevan Brittan's specialist Regulatory Defence team provides advice and representation on a wide range of regulatory law issues, to cover the whole area of health and safety, environmental matters, trading standards prosecutions and the complex area of waste management.
The team acts for a large number of both public and private sector clients, attending interviews under caution, handling and assisting on prosecutions, as well as intervening and advising on prohibition and improvement notices. In particular, the team has a wealth of experience in advising and assisting clients in the aftermath of workplace fatalities, representing both individuals and organisations subject to investigation by the Police and the Health & Safety Executive (see our corporate manslaughter service).
The team also offers an ‘emergency response’ service to clients, enabling them, in the event of a major incident, to call upon specialists who are able to provide immediate and onsite assistance.
