Working closely with our clients’ planning consultants, the Planning team has unrivalled experience of all aspects of the planning application process. We recognise the significant capital, high risk and long lead times involved in regeneration and large residential led schemes and advise our clients at every stage of the process. In addition, we regularly advise our public sector clients on proposed developments involving hospital, waste and infrastructure developments.
Our culture of working closely with planning consultants means that we are able to provide strategic planning advice at the initial stages of the proposed development and our expertise enables us to guide our clients throughout the planning process. Our public/private sector experience allows us to pre-empt potential issues and delay and to innovatively devise solutions to circumvent this. In the event that a planning application does have to be appealed, we have an appeal success rate in excess of 90%, effortlessly exceeding the national appeal success rate. We regularly advise on all stages of the appeal process, including appeals by written representations, by way of hearing or by way of public inquiries. We are also able to advise on the assembly of the professional team and the choice and instruction of leading members of the planning bar.
We also act for both local planning authorities and developers in promoting and making representations in respect of development plans whether by way of written representations or by appearances at local public inquiries or examinations in public.
