I am a Solicitor in the Clinical Risk team and I specialise in health and social care law and regulation.
I represent Independent Care Providers, the NHS and health service commissioners in the social care sector, in particular in relation to enforcement action taken by the CQC including representation at first-tier Tribunal proceedings.
I have a particular interest in representing Independent Care Providers against the regulator and have attended numerous Safeguarding meetings and represented health and social care providers at Serious Incident Reviews.
I recently gained invaluable insight whilst on secondment for a large independent healthcare provider, dealing with a range of health law queries.
Alongside my regulatory experience I frequently attend the Coroners Court representing both NHS bodies and health and social care providers.
I have an interest in issues relating to mental health, capacity and consent and have represented clients in the Court of Protection.
I regularly provide in-house and external training to clients on health and social care regulation, mental health law, mental capacity law, inquiries and investigations.
I also speak at conferences and seminars on issues pertaining to the Care Act 2014, and safeguarding vulnerable people and deprivation of liberty.
