I am a commercial healthcare specialist lawyer advising on commercial transactions and partnering arrangements. My work involves joint ventures, private patient hospital projects, consolidations and mergers, and integrated care / new models of care projects. I advise a diverse range of clients that include NHS trusts and foundation trusts, primary care providers, equipment providers, and both government-supported and independent healthcare bodies.
I also have considerable experience advising NHS and independent healthcare clients on international healthcare projects. I led the team which closed the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust’s new PF2 hospital project (Midland Metropolitan Hospital), the first hospital to be procured under HM Treasury’s PF2 model and involving the construction of a new hospital on a brownfield site. I have also advised on numerous health PFI projects, and variations to health PFI projects.
I have authored various healthcare guides for LexisNexis and have contributed two articles to the Global Opportunity Healthcare magazine entitled:
- Education in Healthcare; and
- Exporting the NHS
Seminars and Training:
I have delivered a number of seminars and spoken at conferences internationally on the UK Health PFI model and the move to PF2. I have also conducted various training sessions on the "NHS Standard Contract" and the "NHS Contract for the Supply of Goods and Services".
