• I specialise in defending high-value personal injury litigation involving complex causation and quantum issues. I have over 15 years' experience in advising insurers, local authorities, corporate clients and high net worth individuals on the defence of pre-litigated and litigated personal injuries claims. I handle claims involving severe orthopaedic and psychological injuries and chronic pain (including chronic pain syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, chronic widespread pain and psychiatric pain disorders). In addition, I advise on policy wording and coverage, liability and the admissibility of evidence.

I have extensive experience of acting on behalf of local authorities in relation to the defence of highway tripping, employers' liability (including Work Related Upper Limb Disorders), occupiers' liability and housing disrepair claims. I also handle contractual claims arising from disputes between a local authority and an outsource supplier.

    • I acted on behalf of the Defendant in the seminal case of Burrett v Mencap Limited [2014] EW Misc B50 (CC), the leading authority on the costs consequences following acceptance of a Defendant Part 36 offer that was reduced after the relevant period had expired.
    • I have been seconded to several major insurance companies, a London Borough Council, a prestigious high street retailer and a not-for-profit public sector organisation.
    • I have delivered claims portal and mock trial training to several London Borough Councils.
