• I am an Associate in the Housing Management Team.

I advise and represent landlords in claims brought by their tenants for housing disrepair. I also advise local housing authorities in Part 7 Housing Act 1996 homeless appeals and support other members of the property team in issues that can arise between the private law nature of property transactions when they might conflict with public law obligations.

Following my admission as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, I gained higher rights of audience in both civil and criminal proceedings.

I have substantial experience of conducting interim, trial and appellate advocacy in the County Court and High Court. I have experience of the full range of issues that can arise in bringing and defending possession proceedings and anti-social behaviour related injunctions. Prior to joining Bevan Brittan, I worked as a legal aid lawyer which has given me an insight into the problem clusters that occur in the management of social housing. I have considerable experience of dealing with issues that arise under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Equality Act 2010 for vulnerable occupiers of social housing.

In addition to my work as a Litigator and Advocate, I taught for five years at The University of Law attaining the grade of Senior Lecturer. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
