Bevan Brittan’s Energy & Resource Management Group continues to expand with the appointment of Bunmi Alasi – an experienced commercial lawyer specialising in renewable energy projects.
Having qualified in Nigeria, Bunmi has over a decade of experience from both private practice and in-house legal roles. Bunmi joins from the electricity generation company, North South Power Company Limited, where she was responsible for the legal and commercial aspects of various renewable energy projects - both in terms of new developments and ongoing issues on operational energy infrastructure.
Bunmi has a broad range of experience in renewable energy and PPP project contracts, including on the financing, construction, operation and maintenance, grid, power purchase agreements. Her experience includes advising on various hydropower (including a 600MW hydropower PPP project in Nigeria) and ground mounted solar PV projects.
She will be joining Bevan Brittan’s Energy & Resource Management Group which is recognised for its market leading expertise in the renewable energy, waste and resource management sectors. The multi-disciplinary Group advises clients on the entire lifecycle of projects from: site selection and assessment, funding and structuring, planning and regulation - through to procurement, contractual negotiations, construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning.

The appointment is the latest in a string of new additions to the Energy & Resource Management Group. In the last 12 months, the Group has appointed a health and safety law specialist, Louise Mansfield (Legal Director) and projects/commercial lawyers Carrie Davies (Solicitor), Ross Palmer (Senior Associate) and Kamran Zaheer (Solicitor).
