Bevan Brittan’s award-winning healthcare team have advised Mysa Care on its acquisition of leading supported living, residential and day care provider, PoC.

Mysa Care, backed by investment group Downing LLP, provides care and support to adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and autism.

The acquisition will see it take control of PoC’s leading supported living business, where 250 staff support over 100 residents/service users across a 29-strong property portfolio. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

A multi-disciplinary team at Bevan Brittan worked on the project. It was led by Corporate Partner Chris Harper and Partner and Head of Independent Health & Care Real Estate Sarah Skuse. They were assisted by Senior Associates Greg Bullock (Corporate) and Sarah Newton (Real Estate).

Sarah Skuse said: “We were delighted to act for Mysa Care on its acquisition of this best-in-class social care business and have no doubt that the organisation will continue to deliver fantastic services for vulnerable people. Congratulations to Mysa Care and Downing LLP.”

Chris Breen, CEO at Mysa Care, added: “We are thrilled to welcome PoC’s residents, service users and team to Mysa Care. Bevan Brittan’s team worked tirelessly on this transaction and we are incredibly grateful for the support that they provided every step of the way.”

Torsten Mack, Investment Director at Downing LLP, said: “We are grateful to Chris, Sarah and the entire team at BB whose market knowledge and assured handling of the transaction was first class.”
