I lead the firm's Insurance team and have 30 years' experience of handling liability cases for insurers, self-insured PLCs and government bodies. These range from major property damage claims, through to high-value personal injury cases. In addition, I handle a wide range of insurance coverage disputes for insurers, companies and publically- funded organisations, as well as advising on risk transfer matters and the adequacy of their insurance arrangements.
I also advise on disputes between insurers and their insureds relating to insurance policy wording and coverage. In addition, I advise a range of health, PHI and life insurers on issues arising on claims and policy interpretation and coverage.
My work also involves acting for local authorities in respect of highway claims.
I have extensive experience of dealing with the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) on behalf of insurer clients in the context of policy disputes that have been referred to the FOS.
Paul Taverner is excellent at taking complex scenarios and condensing them to a straightforward decision.
Seminars:
I regularly conduct client training on insurance law matters to both insurers and insured parties.
