• I specialise in defendant clinical negligence. I qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and have over 7 years’ extensive experience in defending pre-litigated and litigated claims predominantly on behalf of healthcare clients, originally in handling non-clinical complex claims and latterly in clinical negligence and medical malpractice.

My clients include NHS Resolution and UK Trusts and I have also acted for private healthcare providers, household name private hospital chains and large insurer clients throughout my career.

I advise clients on liability, causation, quantum and claims strategy, informed by an understanding of the sector in which those clients operate and the issues faced from both a commercial as well as a litigation perspective. I have experience in defending sensitive claims brought by litigants in person and also in circumstances where the Claimant is incarcerated.

Having assisted surgeons undertaking private medical work and clinicians/ corporates providing care in a variety of healthcare settings, to include prisons, care homes, mental health care providers, aesthetic practices and hospitals, I am experienced in liaising with witnesses with no prior claims experience and supporting clients through the litigation process.

Over the years, I have delivered training sessions relating to investigation of claims, data protection obligations in particular where records relate to service users without capacity, the litigation process and strategic considerations.

    • Successful pre-trial settlement of a claim with a problematic change in a key factual (witness) evidence on a costs inclusive basis, with the Claimant recovering less than a third of the costs budgeted.
    • Limiting damages at trial to £2,716 in a spinal injury claim pleaded at over £1m, with the added benefit of having made an early costs protective Part 36 offer and following a pre-trial JSM where the Claimant refused to decrease on their final offer of £572,000 plus costs on the standard basis.
    • Lead assisting solicitor in defending a claim involving sensitive allegations by a litigant in person to a 7 day Trial and subsequent applications for permission to appeal, in doing so securing a costs order against the Claimant.
