How can I prepare?

  1. Audit current HR practices:
    • Review how grievances, disciplinaries, and dismissals are currently handled, particularly paying attention to process and the length of time it takes to conclude matters.
    • Ensure timelines for internal processes align with the limits.
  2. Training
    • Provide training to managers and HR team on the new time limits and procedural expectations.
  3. Records
    • Look at current record keeping practices and look at ways of improving the system so that you are able to log and timestamp all employment-related decisions.
  4. Engage Legal and HR teams
    • Seek advice early, especially if you are considering mediation, settlement or other ways to resolve matters.
