Four charities are set to receive an equal share of £100,000 in a special end-of-year gift from Bevan Brittan, as part of the leading commercial law firm’s commitment to supporting local communities.

Age UK Birmingham, 1625 Independent People in Bristol, Zarach in Leeds and Thames Reach in London will benefit from the festive funding boost, receiving  £25,000 each.

Bevan Brittan is making the donations in line with its ongoing pledge to support vital causes in the cities where it is based. It is the third year in a row that the business has donated a total of £100,000 to its office charities, with additional fundraising activities undertaken by colleagues throughout the year.

Andrew Shaw, Partner and Head of Community Engagement at Bevan Brittan, said: “We are delighted to once again be able to make these donations to our four office charities.

“Our people care deeply about the communities where we are based and we’re proud of the relationships that we’ve built with these incredible causes in recent years. We truly hope that this special end-of-year funding will make a real and tangible difference to the organisations in the months and years ahead.”

Age UK Birmingham is an independent charity which supports older people, their families and carers, while 1625 Independent People in Bristol supports young people who are homeless, leaving care or at risk of homelessness. Zarach in Leeds is focused on ending child bed poverty and Thames Reach in London tackles homelessness in the capital, with its staff and volunteers out on the streets every night to help those forced to sleep rough.

These special festive donations have come at the end of a year in which Bevan Brittan colleagues have undertaken a range of other fundraising activity, with a team in Bristol notably raising £20,000 for 1625 Independent People by trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

The law firm’s Community Engagement strategy also includes a commitment to volunteering and pro bono. Legal teams across its four offices delivered 633 hours of pro bono support within their local communities in 2024/25, and are on track to better this total in 2025/26.
