Claire Jones, who manages our book of LTPS claims will discuss the range of EL and PL claims we handle for Trusts arising from assaults by patients on staff and visitors.

She will look at types of incident, how we investigate them and how we assess liability and quantum. She will also deal with Pre action Disclosure and issues of confidentiality and data protection. Patient assaults on staff and visitors can be very upsetting, clearly for the person affected, but in the case of staff assaults, also for their colleagues. In all cases, investigations have to be handled sensitively and the impact on colleagues is a key part of the process of deciding how to approach an individual claim.

Deborah Pyzer specialises in the defence of medical negligence claims with expertise managing homicide claims perpetrated by patients. She will discuss defending potential claims in negligence and pursuant to the Human Rights Act 1998.

  • Please be aware that places for this seminar are limited and may get over subscribed.

Our clients will get priority, but we will endeavour to increase capacity where we can to allow all those who wish to attend a place.

Where we are heavily oversubscribed we will limit places per organisation.

Registration will close at the advertised start time.
