Leading commercial law firm Bevan Brittan has strengthened its national Employment, Pensions and Immigration (EPI) practice with the strategic appointment of new partner Ben Gorner, underscoring the firm’s continued growth and investment in top-tier talent.
Ben, who joins from Gateley, will play a pivotal role in the senior leadership team and take a seat on the Board, helping to accelerate the firm’s continued growth across key markets including Commercial Services, and Insurance and Financial Services.
Based in Birmingham, Ben will co-lead the EPI department with current Head, Jodie Sinclair who, after a transition period, will focus on her Senior Partner role and continuing to support our health and care clients.
With over two decades of experience working for some of the UK’s largest commercial law firms, Ben has built an enviable reputation and practice that spans a wide range of sectors and industries, acting for both national and international clients. He covers the full range of employment litigation, including complex tribunal claims and High Court restrictive covenant disputes. Ben also brings significant experience and expertise in transactional projects, including TUPE transfer and change management, international projects and contributes to the profession through membership of the Birmingham Law Society’s Employment Committee and Employment Lawyers Association.
As the 11th Partner to join the EPI team – doubling the number of partners within a three-year period – Ben’s appointment marks a significant milestone in the department’s expansion journey.
Commenting on his move, Ben said: “I’m delighted to be joining Bevan Brittan at such an exciting and pivotal time. The EPI team has already built an exceptional reputation, with leading practices and lawyers across health and care, and central and local government. I look forward to building on that momentum in driving our diversification strategy, continuing to expand into other key markets, and leading the team’s next phase of growth and success.”
Head of Bevan Brittan’s Employment, Pensions and Immigration department, Jodie Sinclair said: “I am pleased to welcome Ben to the firm and into the Employment team. His considerable experience as an employment lawyer and senior leader will be vital as we continue to expand our Employment, Immigration and Pensions practice, and I am delighted that Ben will play a pivotal role in our ongoing growth, particularly as we look towards our next 5-year strategy.
“We have built a hugely successful and respected Employment, Pensions & Immigration offering in recent years and I am excited at the prospect of developing this further with Ben.”
