I specialise in liability claims acting for public bodies, insurers and self insured clients on personal injury and property damage claims, including public and employers liability. I also advise on complex disputes on insurance policy wordings and coverage, which often involves liaising between different insurers (and re-insurers) in relation to the same claim. Alongside my litigation practice, I am also a member of the firm's costs team which provides support and assistance for colleagues and external clients.
My aim is always to deal with claims efficiently and effectively, making sure that costs do not become disproportionate to the sums at stake. I provide focused, solutions-based advice, looking at all aspects of the claim and with the bigger picture in mind, rather than simply following the procedural steps. I always consider alternative means of resolving claims which invariably leads to speedier resolution and reduced costs.Claire is a very approachable, supportive solicitor who is responsive to queries and pragmatic with advice.
Aside from Paul Taverner, Claire Jones and Adrian Neale are the stand out members of the team. Claire has great management skills. She is very good at dealing with difficult opponents. Adrian is a technical lawyer. He has a great eye for detail and good tactical nous. Together they make a fab team.
