I am a commercial solicitor specialising in public and private contracts for energy infrastructure and waste management. For more than 16 years, I have advised and supported public and private sector clients in negotiating and delivering commercial arrangements for the procurement of public services, works and goods.
My experience includes working extensively within local government legal departments, central government departments, arm's-length public bodies and alongside private sector organisations. This has given me a strong understanding of the legal, operational and commercial challenges faced by clients across both the public and private sectors.
Throughout my career, I have successfully negotiated contracts that have delivered significant cost savings for clients and increased the profitability of commercial ventures.
Alongside this, I have developed a strong working knowledge of the Government Standard Contracts for Procurement issued by the Cabinet Office, as well as Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract templates.
A pragmatic and commercially focused approach enables me to identify practical solutions to legal issues while recognising the administrative risks, governance requirements and financial pressures that public bodies face.
My experience also includes helping clients establish clear and effective governance arrangements for contract mobilisation, contract management, exit planning and transfer arrangements.
In addition, I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Local Government Legal Practice administered by the Law Society.

Negotiating the design, build, operate and maintenance contract for a District Heat Network (DHN) for a London Borough Council. Preparing and the draft metering and billing contract for the procurement of metering and billing services for the built DHN.
Advising a local authority on the early termination of an integrated waste contract (waste collection and disposal services). Preparing and negotiating the settlement agreement, interim service contract, and the draft contract for the re-procurement of new integrated waste management services.
Advised on, drafted and negotiated the enterprise resource planning, systems integration and business process standardisation contracts for a cluster of four central government departments: Synergy Technology and Synergy Business Process Services.
Advised on and drafted a DPS framework agreement and call off contracts for physical forensic services for UK wide police authorities: Bluelight Commercial.
Secondments with the North London Waste Authority (5 years) and the Care Quality Commission (3 years).
