• I am a housing lawyer specialising in disrepair as well as virtually all aspects of housing management, including possession claims in respect of unlawful occupation, breach of tenancy conditions, tenancy fraud, anti-social behaviour (injunction and possession proceedings), and other cases.

My clients are presently housing associations, but I have previously been part of the legal teams in local authorities and housing associations as well as working several years working in private practice. I had conduct of English Churches v Shine (2004) which remains as an authority in determining damages in disrepair cases.

Prior to joining Bevan Brittan, I spent over three years in a housing association in Wales working primarily with the Head of Housing to prepare it for the implementation of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016, which was a tremendous experience. In addition to this, I also dealt with the Association’s disrepair cases which included successfully defending claims at trial.

From September I will be a non-executive member of a housing association board based in the North West. I have wanted to do this for a while, and I am looking forward to seeing things from a different perspective.

I am interested in exploring alternative solutions to litigation and delivering bespoke training.
