Judicial review is the procedure by which judges examine the decisions of public bodies to ensure that they act lawfully and fairly in reaching those decisions.
Our public sector clients face a number of challenges which impact on the way in which they carry out their functions – in doing so they make complex and finely balanced decisions (many of which directly impact on individuals) on a daily basis. Sometimes individuals or organisations seek to challenge those decisions – often by way of judicial review.
Our expert team of lawyers is experienced at dealing with complex judicial reviews ranging from those brought by an individual in relation to a decision by a health body not to fund his/her treatment to multi-party litigation brought by several authorities against a government department in respect of budgetary cuts or policy changes.
Our team mobilises quickly to provide expert legal advice to help public bodies to protect and defend their rights by way of judicial review.
