A team of specialist energy lawyers at Bevan Brittan has advised BOOM Power Ltd, a UK-based renewable energy developer, on the sale of the East Yorkshire Solar Farm to Ampyr Solar Europe. The sale marks a significant milestone for the project and the next chapter in BOOM Power’s track record of delivering nationally significant renewable energy infrastructure.

East Yorkshire Solar Farm is a major solar development located in East Yorkshire. With a capacity of approximately 400 MW, the project is designed to generate enough low-carbon electricity to power around 100,000 homes, supporting the UK’s energy security and decarbonisation ambitions.

The project received its Development Consent Order (DCO) in May 2025, following several years of detailed technical design, environmental assessment and extensive engagement with landowners, local communities and statutory stakeholders. The sale to Ampyr Solar Europe follows the successful completion of the consenting process and positions the project for delivery. Under a Development Management Services Agreement, BOOM Power will continue to support Ampyr Solar Europe as the project progresses through the next stages of development, construction and energisation.

Energy Partner, Harriet Murray Jones led the Bevan Brittan team on the property aspects, supported by Simon Boyes, Victoria LaPorte and Charlotte Horler.

Mark Hogan, Founder of BOOM Power, said: “East Yorkshire Solar Farm is a flagship project for BOOM Power and reflects years of detailed development work, collaboration and engagement with our valued landowners and partners. Securing DCO consent was a major achievement, and we are proud to have brought the project to this stage. Ampyr Solar Europe is well placed to take East Yorkshire forward into delivery, and we look forward to seeing the project make a meaningful contribution to the UK’s clean energy transition. BOOM Power will continue to be actively involved as the project moves into construction and subsequent energisation, planned for 2029.”

Harriet added: “Having worked with BOOM Power for many years, I’m delighted to have been able to support them on this major project, which will play a crucial role in supporting the UK’s energy security and decarbonisation ambitions. The sale of the project is a significant milestone and involved the close collaboration and recognition of the importance of the project from all involved.”
