I am a real estate lawyer specialising in the renewable energy and infrastructure sector, advising developers, investors, funders and landowners on the property aspects of complex energy projects across the UK. My practice spans the full lifecycle of projects, from site identification and land assembly through to financing, construction, operation, refinancing and disposal.
I have an extensive experience advising on the real estate requirements for a broad range of technologies, including solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), onshore wind and co-located projects. I also have experience advising independent distribution network operators (IDNO’s), electric vehicle (EV) charging providers and data centre developers on the property aspects of their infrastructure projects. I work closely with clients to structure and negotiate the land rights needed to deliver energy infrastructure, including options, leases, easements, cable routes, substation arrangements and ancillary development agreements. I also advises on property due diligence for acquisitions, disposals and financing transactions, title risk, landowner negotiations and the management of complex third-party interests.
Known for providing pragmatic, commercial advice, I work collaboratively with planning, construction, corporate and finance teams to help clients deliver projects efficiently while managing legal risk. I have particular experience supporting clients with large-scale development portfolios and understand the commercial drivers affecting developers and investors in the rapidly evolving renewable energy market.
I am passionate about supporting the UK’s transition to net zero and enjoys building long-term relationships with clients operating across the energy sector. I combine technical real estate expertise with an understanding of the wider commercial and regulatory landscape to provide practical solutions throughout the development and operational phases of energy projects.
