Bevan Brittan has announced the appointment of new property Partner, Jess Jeanes, further strengthening the business’s Energy and Resource Management (ERM) Group.

Jess joins the firm from TLT, where she was a Legal Director in the Future Energy team. She brings to the firm more than 14 years of property experience and has specialist renewable energy expertise.

Based in Bristol, her experience includes advising investors, funders, utilities and developers on a wide range of energy transactions.

Nadeem Arshad, Partner and Head of the ERM Group at Bevan Brittan, said: “Jess brings a great combination of energy and property knowledge that will be invaluable to clients operating in the renewable  energy and utilities space.

“She is the third Partner to join our dedicated ERM Group this year, following the addition of corporate Partner, Nick Fothergill and construction and infrastructure Partner, Perveen Akhter. Jess’s expertise will complement our existing energy capabilities and, like Nick and Perveen, she is another super addition to our growing team of sector specialists.”

Jess commented on the move: “I am excited to join Bevan Brittan and to work with a team that is focused on delivering practical, commercially minded advice to clients in the renewable energy sector.

“I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued development and to supporting our clients on complex transactions.”

Bevan Brittan's ERM Group has 19 specialist ERM partners and over 35 years of experience advising on energy, resource management and infrastructure projects.

In the last 12 months the firm has advised on more than 100 energy and resource management transactions. This includes advising leading UK ERM company, Viridor, on the development of an Energy Recovery Facility as part of the £2.1 billion Tees Valley Waste Management PPP

The ERM Group’s expertise includes solar/battery, wind, electric vehicle infrastructure, district energy, strategic energy partnerships, energy from waste, carbon capture, hydrogen and data centres, providing clients with deep sector knowledge and market-leading expertise.

Jess’s appointment reinforces Bevan Brittan’s commitment to expanding its specialist legal services in the energy and resource management sectors and to providing clients with a multidisciplinary approach to transactional and regulatory challenges.

Her arrival follows the recruitment of six new partners who have joined Bevan Brittan this year. In addition to Nick Fothergill and Perveen Akhter, the firm has appointed new Head of Central and Local Government, Kuldip Dhanoya; litigation partner Oliver Wright; employment partner Ben Gorner; and corporate specialist Bharti Moore

Earlier this month, the firm announced a 13th successive year of revenue growth in 2025/26 with turnover reaching £101.2m - up 17% on 2024/25.  Energy and Resource Management was the top growth market for the firm, which highlights its reputation and expert legal knowledge in these sectors.
