I am a commercial property solicitor advising clients on all aspects of commercial property transactions across a range of sectors: landlord and tenant, disposals and acquisitions, corporate and charity mergers, retail, energy, education, telecommunications, development, and property finance.
I have extensive experience of working with a variety of clients including commercial organisations, charities, and education and other public sector institutions, including:
- advising an international charity on the grant of its new head office lease in Canada Square, London, including due diligence and reporting in respect of the Canary Wharf estate;
- assisting a national charity with the sale of a number of sites, involving overage and pre-sale due diligence, resolving issues arising from the Localism Act 2011 and the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987;
- advising a think tank in relation to the sale of one of its properties in east London for £2.5m;
- advising a regulatory authority on the surrender of a long lease and a new sub-underlease of office premises in central London at an annual rent of over £500,000;
- assisting with the property aspects of the creation of several different multi-academy trusts, including dealing with the land transfers on the conversion of community schools and PRUs;
- advising an international retail group on the grant of its new UK head office lease in London, bringing together the head office function for all of its brands;
- assisting a UK bank with property due diligence in relation to security being taken over multiple properties in respect of a £5.3m facility;
- advising a private UK bank in relation to security being taken over a residential property in respect of a £7.65m facility;
- assisting a social enterprise with rolling out multiple solar panel leases across a number of schools in Oxfordshire; and
- assisting a UK corporation with the property due diligence in respect of a £44.5m business acquisition.
